QIP Shot is a freeware screen capture utility developed by a Russian company. Despite the web site being in Russian, the program works fine in English.
The features of the program are pretty cool for a screen capture utility and as such, you can capture not only still images from your desktop screen, but also video playback as well as audio.
For screen capture images, you are able to capture an entire screen or just a selected region of it. The specific region when capture has started, zooms into the screen slightly and allows you to select a rectangular area. Once the capture has completed, you may use QIP Shot to perform image modifications such as flipping, cropping, adding rectangular/square boxes, area blurring and even arrows.
Once you're satisfied with the image capture, you may save it as either a JPG, GIF, PNG or BMP file. As for video captures, you may save them as AVI files which are almost universally playable on both PCs and Macs. QIP Shot can also upload your final captures to a Russian social network or Facebook.
QIP Shot supports custom hotkeys, customized video and image quality or showing/hiding the cursor.
Overall, QIP Shot is a nice piece of software which offers adequate options in terms of image and video capture while remaining completely free.
